About Rebecca Loutit
"Sometimes the beauty of life is found in the pain we experience but we don't know it,
until we move into creation mode and these wonderful gifts appear"
Songwriting since she was 18 years old, Rebecca uses her life experiences and her empathy
to channel her music into stories of triumph.
Manitoba grown, this Prairie girl called Ottawa home for over 20 years but now lives back in rural Manitoba.
Shortly after her return, she was encouraged to enter a songwriting contest,
which led to a successful FACTOR grant application and her first single release in December 2022.
Music played a big role in her childhood, singing in the church choir and at family kitchen parties;
almost every family member played an instrument and sang.
Both of her grandfathers played the piano that now resides in her home.
Though music often took a back seat to other endeavors; songwriting has always been her lifeline.
Now with over 50 songs in her catalog, each unveiling the puzzle pieces of her life story;
she is excited to start sharing her music with you!
Influenced by many different genres, the stories are what speak to her heart. Ingrid Michaelson, Brandi Carlile & Joni Mitchell are among her favorite storytellers. Rebecca’s vocals can move from deep and soulful to light and playful with her own sound blending folk, folk-pop, country and blues.
